Events and Community Outreach Internship
Position Description:
- Work closely with the Operations Manger and other Eco Encore interns to assist in marketing development projects such as press releases, website updates, ENEWS blasts, blogs, etc.
- Create and manage a community outreach event (such as a community book drive) to build awareness of Eco Encore’s cause, as well as generate community donations
- Develop creative strategies and community outreach materials to distribute to ‘like minded’ stores, community centers, schools and Universities in regards to the planned outreach event, as well as building brand awareness of our organization
This position has an incredible opportunity for growth, and at Eco Encore we support all creative ideas and endeavors in increasing our visibility and donations.
This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in gaining valuable first hand experience in non profit management, marketing, event planning and development. This is NOT a coffee fetching/paper stuffing internship. We work hard to ensure that all staff and interns gain valuable work skills that will prepare them for the non profit job market.
Hours and Compensation:
Hours are very flexible to accommodate other commitments. This position will tentatively start September 21 and end December 13, with flexibility on both the start and end date. Hours per week can range from 5-15. Currently this is an un-paid internship, with definite room for growth within the company. This internship can be structured to be suitable for college credit.
Qualifications:
· A “people person” who is interested in developing non profit skills and experience
· Self-motivated and an independent worker – a must!
· Flexible and highly organized.
· Strong interest in start-up business development, event planning, communications
· Very comfortable learning and utilizing a range of web-based programs.
· Enjoys working in a laid back, positive and fun environment!
